Kielbasa is a famous type of lightly pork or pork and beef smoked sausage that hails from Poland.
In comparison to traditional sausage, kielbasa tends to be a fully cooked and smoked sausage with a distinctive garlic taste along with other flavorings like smoke, cloves, pimentos and marjoram.
Generally, most kiełbasa sold outside of Poland is already cooked – either smoked or cured. It can be eaten as-is, but generally tastes best when heated up. There are many ways to heat smoked kielbasa. You'll want to gradually warm the kielbasa up without over cooking it. For instance warming the kielbasa in room temperature water until it hits a boil about 10 minutes is a great way to guarantee you do not over cook the product. grilling and pan frying are two other excellent methods, but you will want to be careful not to over cook the product.
Kielbasa goes great with many things. Traditionally the two main condiments that go well with kielbasa are horseradish/red horseradish and a farm house mustard. The best part about kielbasa is how versatile it is. Here are some of the best side dishes to serve with kielbasa: polenta, mac and cheese, applesauce, scalloped potatoes, green beans casserole, cabbage soup, potato salad, shepherd's pie, cauliflower cheese soup, fried onions, polish potato pancakes, bigos, cucumber salad, sauerkraut, coleslaw and grilled vegetables. There are also plenty of other items that go great with kielbasa or as a side.

Our kielbasa is vacuum packed so it is good for 120 days in the refrigerator and even longer in the freezer. Once the package is opened the kielbasa will last about a week or two. Must be refrigerated when storing.
